CBI member, Huawei has unveiled what is now widely considered to be the world’s fastest artificial intelligence-enhanced computing platform. Named Atlas 900, the platform consists of a series of AI training clusters which when combined utilise digital and adaptive learning to breakdown and solve complicated problems that otherwise would require enormous amounts of memory and data processing.
Hu Houkan, rotating Chairman of Huawei said: “We believe that connectivity and computing will be woven into the fabric of everything and are worth our continuous investment. As people are computers are closer than ever, the improvement of computing power is crucial to human beings.”
Atlas 900 combines the power of thousands of processors. As a result, it takes the computer just 59.8 seconds to train ResNet-50, the gold standard for measuring AI training performance. This is 10 seconds faster than the previous world record.
The computer’s processing power will also be made available to Huawei customers through its integration with Huawei Cloud. Customers will be able to log into the Cloud to see the latest in astronomy, weather forecasting, the economy and, at a later date, use the Cloud to facilitate autonomous driving.
