Members who regularly fly direct to Southwest China may find it useful to know that Air China plans to switch its service between London Gatwick and Chengdu to London Heathrow.
According to Air China’s bookings site, from April 2, 2019 the carrier’s UK-Chengdu service will take a new slot at Heathrow airport.
Flight CA423 is listed as departing from Chengdu at 12:45 and landing in Heathrow 16:45. The return leg will depart from Heathrow at 22:00 to arrive in Chengdu at 15:25 (+1).
Flights will continue to operate on Tuesday, Friday and Sundays.
The new time slots will see flights take off from Chengdu at midday rather than just after midnight as they currently do, with a mid-afternoon arrival at Heathrow as opposed to an early morning arrival at Gatwick.
