CBI member Lloyd’s of London announced that Mr. Liu Xiaoming, Chinese Ambassador to the U.K., visited Lloyd’s of London’s headquarters and held discussions with John Nelson, Chairman of Lloyd’s of London.
Mr. Nelson briefed Ambassador Liu about the structure, operation, and global business of Lloyd’s of London. Ambassador Liu expressed his hope that Lloyd’s of London will integrate its own advantages with the development of the Chinese insurance industry and expand its business in China.
In September 2014, the Chinese government awarded Lloyd’s China a licence to establish a branch office in Beijing, which will enhance local access to international specialist (re)insurance expertise. As part of Lloyd’s Vision 2025, Lloyd’s has made a commitment to expand further into the world’s fastest-growing economies like China, and this announcement marked a significant step forward to achieving this goal.
