The Shanghai World EXPO, which opens this Sunday 01 May, has a wide variety of more than 200 innovative and environmentally friendly pavilions on display.
The UK's 'dandelion' pavilion is certainly one of the most eye-catching and is sure to be an instant hit amongst the more than 70 million visitors to EXPO over the next six months (01 May - 31 Oct).
However, it is Shanghai's massive infrastructure build (US$ 95 billion spent to date in preparation for EXPO) and strict new environmental regulations for all future building projects that will offer the greatest business opportunities to companies seeking to enter the market.
For an overview of the infrastructure opportunities on offer to design, engineering and construction related businesses please read CBI Member Jones Lang Lasalle's latest Report 'Building the Foundations for Shanghai's future' below.
Additionally strategic partner Interchina offers its views on the opportunities in the fast growing green and eco-building market below.
China Direct would like to thank both JLL and InterChina for kindly providing these briefings.

I do not suspect this would be the most expensive expo in Sanghai... expenditure has gone up to US$95 billion.
